Swami Krishnanand Memorial Library :
 

The dreamers of 'SFORD Movement' are inspired by the life and teachings of Professor J.K. Vyas, who in his later life culminated to be called "Swami Krishnanandji". The Society for Rational Development (SFORD) has decided to dedicate its "Knowledge-House" to his memory and names it "Swami Krishnanand Memorial Library".

The SFORD is a multi-unit movement; the 'library-needs' of each unit will be fulfilled through this library commonly.


The planned building is going to have separate block for each identified area of learning; the blocks so planned will be named after the learned legends to cherish their pleasing memories and to get valuable lessons of life from the book of their life - a living vivid account of the way they have responded to various events, challenges, tring and ticklish situations although their life. The contributions they have made to make this world loveable and more meaningful shall certainly enthuse and inspire all of us in a shuttle way :

As decided, the various aspects of life and living will be taken care of by the SFORD; so the library will be equipped to cater to the needs of one and all encompassing all aspects of life and living : from conception to cradle; from cradle to career; from career to carefree life & living and from carefree life & living to a satisfied leaving. The library will follow the dictum "let noble thoughts come to us from all sides".

Each aspect of life and living can better be taken of successfully if the same gets the base of 'Yoga' in life. It is, therefore, the basement of the library building will be equipped to cater to the needs yogic exercises. Every member of the SFORD Family will under go a course of essential 'Yogasanas', which are enough to maintain positive health and improve quality of life and learning.

This library will become a center of learning for the rural mass. The relevant material will be made available from time to time. A separate block will be for agriculture and rural development. The rural youth will be attracted towards reading varied literature to bring awareness about life and living. Periodic literature will be made available to satisfy the current needs of every curious reader.

It is planned to offer computer supported scientifically designed access system for the whole library including its periodical section. The reader will be given complete information about the availability, location, etc. on the spot. The terminals for self-search shall also be made available. The complete catalogue database will be computer accessible. On line updation shall be made effective to get the perfect latest position of availability.

The library will also offer supportive services to the readers to facilitate their work. Above all, the library staff will be offered short duration workshops from time to time to update their technical knowledge along with the courses on interpersonal skills, attitude and aptitude modulations, etc. so as equip them to work in a reader-friendly style.

At present; we have approximately 3,000 books and audio-visual material for learning. We are willing to accept books in donation. Kindly send your proposals. We will be happy to make necessary arrangements for collection.
